DOCUMENTARIES

Documentaries, which tell non-fiction stories, can be less expensive than scripted productions. However, they are typically very labor-intensive, often requiring years of commitment. Documentary filmmakers characteristically choose a topic about which they are passionate and/or believe that there is a compelling need for a new perspective.

We at Tonal Vision have long been fans of documentary filmmakers, love supporting their efforts, and have occasionally created our own. Some of the services we offer are:

Consulting, crafting the story, and assisting with preproduction
Filming interviews, b-roll and important events
Post-production including:
- Color correction and color grading
- Titles, lower thirds, motion graphics and effects, and animations
- Audio mixing, sound design, narration and music
- Set-up, captioning and compression for broadcast and social media distribution

"History at Risk" was Tonal Vision's web series documentary detailing the more unconventional parts of American history, which ran from 2013 to 2018. This was the first episode.
"Fell's Point Out of Time" was Jacquie's first documentary project as she earned her MA in Producing Film & Video from American University in 2004.
