ViewSonic VG1655 Monitor

The ViewSonic VG1655 portable 16” Full HD monitor is designed for overcoming one-screen limitations beyond the office. When it is connected to a computer or tablet, it can draw power through the USB-C connection.
We purchased this monitor to use with our Panasonic AG-CX350 cameras when one videographer is filming a performance and needs to monitor two cameras at once. Using this set-up, the monitor connects to the camera via HDMI and requires a separate USB-C power source.
1. Set camera HDMI out format
If you haven’t used this monitor/camera combination before, turn the camera on, open the menu and make sure “Video Out” … “HDMI” … is set to 1920×1080 format (HD), not 3840×2160 (4K).

2. Connect to Power
Next, connect the USB-C cable. One end goes into one of the USB-C slots on the left side of the monitor. The other goes into the power adapter plugged into an outlet.

3. Connect to Camera via HDMI
The monitor comes with a mini HDMI to HDMI cable. Plug the large HDMI end into the camera as shown below. Plug the mini HDMI end into the monitor as shown in the picture above.

4. Monitor should display what the camera sees
Turn the camera and monitor on. The monitor power button is on the back lower left behind the stand, as shown below.

The camera LCD should duplicate the picture on the monitor.
